Rooted in English heritage yet grounded in modern California living, this home was designed for a family of five balancing busy careers, three teenagers, and two very animated doodles. The brief was simple but ambitious: British charm, modern minimalism, seamless indoor-outdoor living, and bulletproof finishes. The design layers traditional craftsmanship with a warm, restrained sensibility — plaster walls, steel windows in select spaces, and sculptural moments like the grand curved staircase that feel both tactile and timeless. Every space was composed with intention and contrast: calm, serene tones in the main living areas give way to bold, color-drenched moments in the son’s bedroom and bath, the basement powder room, and the anteroom off the entry that discreetly conceals the deliveries. Natural stone and living finishes bring old-world soul to a modern build, resulting in a home that feels both elevated and effortless — European in spirit, distinctly Californian in its ease.
